36) My New Streaming Rig - Changes with COVID

With the changes coming to productions all around the world, I lost all of my work in March of last year. Being a technology nerd that I am I was forced to reconsider a lot of things and come up with new ways to get work, along with helping production companies that I worked with. I discovered that virtual production’s were becoming more and more common, where we would have a small crew on set and a larger crew virtually, but companies needed a way to be enabled to conduct virtual productions from a technology standpoint.

Through working on several sets in May of 2020 I learned what people needed and expected from virtual production. I then designed several packages as options for my clients so that they could get two way video in real time, communication, chat room, breakout rooms, audio mix, and multiple cameras. I also had teleprompter and in ear monitoring options available on a few shoots.

This has also been a great way to earn some money while not necessarily doing work, as I can send my packages out on a rental and they can make money while I focus on school.
